A good news story!

Subconsciously, many of us think that the terms ‘aging process’ and ‘old age’ are synonymous.  We believe that aging does not require any time or attention until we get close to “old age”.  Let’s change that thinking before you inadvertently surrender to a slow decline in your ability to do what you love to do.

The aging process has been shown to start as young as 25 years of age.  Changes in the elasticity of our cells, the size of our muscles, the speed that signals pass through our nerves are but a few of these changes.  More often than not, by the time people start to feel a reduction in their muscle strength and flexibility or they see deterioration in their posture, the aging process has been underway for 15-20 years.  The aging process is not even on our radar through our twenties and thirties, as it generally occurs quietly.  Most people will notice age-related changes in their physical or mental ability through their forties and fifties and then start to concede that they are “getting old”.

 

We recommend investing in your aging process, even before you start your RRSP or pension contributions!!
